Mood Tea List|A Cup of Liquid Sunlight — Let the Light Live Within You

When darkness comes and your heart needs healing, which tea would you reach for?

Today’s Mood Tea keyword is Light,
and to me, that word always brings to mind Gumu Cangcang.

Gumu Cangcang
is a century-old Phoenix Shuixian Oolong,
grown atop Wudong Mountain at an elevation of over 1,100 meters.
It undergoes three to four rounds of charcoal roasting over 130 hours,
refined from spring through winter,
layer by layer in charcoal warmth.

A friend who practices traditional Chinese medicine once said it nourishes the Heart Meridian.
Another, with a healer’s touch, felt it resonates with the energy of the Heart Chakra.
When I first met this tea, its liquor was a tender, powdery pink—
so gentle that I called it “Little Pink Brew” or “Grapefruit Water.”
But as I drank on, its woody depth and calm warmth unfolded,
leaving the body comforted and the mind at ease.

If you seek dazzling fragrance or fleeting excitement, this is not your tea.
But if you need energy, grounding, steadiness, and light
a tea that brings warmth into both body and spirit—
then it must be Gumu Cangcang.

It is liquid sunlight,
quietly illuminating from within,
sending gentle currents of warmth through you.

Among many Phoenix Shuixian teas,
Gumu Cangcang is one of the few I’d drink every day.
It is not cold, not cloying, not showy, not loud—
just steady, balanced, and quietly radiant—
like having a small sun living inside you, filling you with light.

Not every Phoenix Shuixian is Gumu Cangcang!

  • Tree Age: 100-year-old tea trees

  • Altitude: Wudong Peak, 1,100 meters

  • Roasting: Charcoal-fired 3 times, over 130 hours

  • Flavor Profile:
Early infusions reveal a soft pinkish hue—“Little Pink Brew”—
a rare expression born from tree age, high altitude, and deep roasting.
Without floral or fruity distractions, it reveals pure Wudong minerality and aged Dancong resonance,
best described as woody aroma, milky undertones, and the brightness of liquid sunlight.
The body feel is wonderfully grounding and radiant.
