Phoenix Dancong Oolong Tea – “Ao Fu Hou” (Wu Dong vs. Dan Hu Mother Tree Second Generation)

✨ What Makes This Tea So Special?

This collector’s set presents a curated pairing of two legendary Dancong teas:

  • Wu Dong Ao Fu Hou
A tea with a gardenia-scented base, yet it unfolds into an elegant, layered fragrance of ripe peach. It offers a steady bloom of floral and fruity notes, with a sweet, creamy finish and a lingering sweetness that coats the palate.

  • Dan Hu Ao Fu Hou
First, this is a second-generation tea from the original mother plants—representing some of the highest-grade tea trees we can access. It’s also handcrafted by Master Wen, an intangible cultural heritage inheritor. Second, while it shares the “sweet sister” profile with Wu Dong Ao Fu Hou, its style is distinctly different. It’s more delicately sweet and refreshing, with a distinct dried banana chip aroma in the first two infusions, evolving into a mix of floral fruitiness and subtle woody notes in later steeps.

Together, these two teas form what we call the “Sweet Sisters Duo”—a pair of premium teas with character. Tea lovers often describe their flavors as “the taste of being in love—each with its own charm.” This romantic profile turns every tasting into a special moment.

How to Brew Ao Fu Hou Phoenix Dancong Oolong Tea

Brewing Suggestions:

  • Leaf Amount: 6–8 grams per session

  • Water-to-Tea Ratio: Approx. 1:18

  • Water Temperature: Fully boiled water (≈100°C / 212°F)

  • Teaware: 100–120 ml porcelain gaiwan or handmade Chaozhou teapot

  • Brewing Method:
Use boiling water. Pour in and out quickly for the first 5 infusions. Gradually increase the steeping time after the 5th round.

  • Water Type: Soft mountain spring water is recommended for best results.

Pro Tip:
Choosing the right brewing vessel is key! A small Chaozhou teapot or a porcelain gaiwan helps bring out the full flavor of the tea—which is why these are widely considered the go-to tools for brewing Dancong tea among experts.

May every tea lover, no matter their age, feel—or relive—the sweetness of being in love through this “Sweet Sisters Duo.” Here’s to enjoying good tea every day, and making every day a good one!
